Griffin wants Grand Send Off

7^th of July, 2012 at UFC 148, Tito Ortiz will step inside the octagon for his final bout against Forrest Griffin and fans of Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC will never see the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion strutting his stuff inside the ring again and his opponent for the night sat down in an interview with UFC.com where he stated that with all the hype surrounding the fight, most people have seemingly forgotten about the past of Ortiz.

He went on to add that during the two or three years he was the champion in the division, there was hardly any athlete who was close enough to him in the entire company, he was almost untouchable. He stated that Tito had been a champion when he hadn’t started fighting professionally and was making money by fighting for around $ 400 in the streets.

The match between Forrest Griffin and Tito Ortiz will be the third time that they will have squared off inside the ring with the scores tied at one apiece, and although Griffin acknowledged the fact that the skills of Ortiz had waned over the years, he admitted that he still has the fire power left in him to beat anyone inside the ring and that is probably the legacy of The Huntington Beach Bad Boy.

Speaking about his career, Griffin stated that although Ortiz is past his prime, he still can compete and beat any fighter inside the ring and although they have faced each other twice and are equal counts with regards to victories, Griffin said that there are some things that will still be difficult to deal with.

And although Forrest Griffin doesn’t expect an easy match, he wants to give Ortiz the best send off possible by pushing him to the limits in his final bow.

ORTIZ WANTS GRIFFIN BATTLE

Tizo Ortiz has said that he wish to enter the ring to fight against Forrest Griffin. Tizo has won many titles but he could not beat Griffin. So he said that before his official retirement from this particular sport he wants meet Griffin once in the ring. Before this they have met each other in the ring for two times.

Both the wrestlers are former light heavy weight champions and have achieved quite a number of titles. Recently the co owner of UFC, Lorenzo Fertitta has said that he has heard about this particular wish of Ortiz. He is quite eager to arrange this particular match between Forrest Griffin and Tizo Ortiz. But, no official announcement for this match has been made by the authority. It seems the Tizo’s wish is going to be fulfilled by the UFC committee.

Griffin said that he is also eagerly waiting for this match. He also explained that he is going to knock Ortiz down in the third ring clash. It will be perfect farewell match for Ortiz. It is quite understandable that after this particular event, Tizo is going to announce his end of career in UFC.

The fans of both the wrestlers are eager to witness this match. Sources said that the UFC authority has looked down on this particular matter and will most probably arrange this match in the later summers of this year.

In his last ring match Ortiz was knocked down by Antonio Rogerio. This happened in the UFC 140 that was held in Toronto. This loss was TIzo’s second consecutive loss. He said that in his final match, he is surely going to beat Forrest Griffin. Time will only show the real winner. It seems the wrestling fans do not have to wait for this match for long. Soon the official date of this particular match will be announced by the UFC authority.
